8th Annual Letterkenny Busking Festival Returns to Main Street with a thrilling lineup
Letterkenny, Saturday 29th July - The highly anticipated 8th annual Letterkenny Busking Festival competition is set to make a triumphant return. Since its beginning in 2015, this vibrant festival has attracted talented buskers and performers from various genres, creating an incredible entertainment and atmosphere for all to enjoy.
This year's festival promises to be even more thrilling, featuring a eclectic mix of beloved returning acts and exciting new talents. Traditional musicians, singers, and performers will grace the stage on Letterkenny's bustling Main Street, competing for fantastic prizes from the €1000 prize fund.
"We're delighted to announce the festival date this year," said Fionnuala Rabbitt, President of Letterkenny Chamber, the organization organizing the Busking Festival through its ShopLK Brand. "Last year's event was a tremendous success with some fantastic entertainers. The busking festival brings entertainment, music, and fun to the streets for the day. It complements other festivals such as the Blues & Roots and Fleadh, making Letterkenny an attractive destination for visitors and locals alike. We anticipate fierce competition for the top spot and the cash prizes."
Funded through the Retail Promotion initiative by Donegal County Council, the annual Letterkenny Busking Festival serves as a platform to showcase the charm and talent that permeates Letterkenny, particularly along the vibrant Main Street. July 29th promises to be an exceptional day for all everyone involved.
Jimmy Stafford, Chair of the festival committee, expressed enthusiasm for diverse talents, stating, "We welcome entertainers from all genres to participate in the festival. In the past, we've had dancers and magicians alongside the musical performances. The competition is open to all ages, with great prizes up for grabs. It's also an opportunity for buskers to entertain the crowds and infuse the Main Street area with music and joy."
